Los Angeles - Flavio Morales has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Programming & Production for mun2, effective immediately, it was announced today by Jacqueline Hernandez, Chief Operating Officer, Telemundo Network.
"Flavio has played an integral part in the evolution of mun2," said Hernandez. "By leveraging relationships with Telemundo and NBC, he has introduced the mun2 audience to a broader range of smarter, connected and game-changing programming. His extensive experience and keen understanding of the bilingual bicultural space have helped mun2 remain the fastest growing cable network in the US among young Hispanics."
In his new role, Morales will have the added responsibility of overseeing both West Coast and East Coast Production teams for the network.
Morales joined the organization in February 2005 as the Vice President of Programming, establishing the overall programming strategy for mun2 and overseeing the development of original and authentic programming that resonates with the network's young, bilingual Latino audience.
In the last year, Morales has led the organization through seven months of consecutive year to year growth in ratings. Under his leadership, mun2's creative content has received extensive industry recognition including a Peabody Award, validating the network's innovative original-programming strategy. In 2009, he was selected as one of Multichannel News's "40 Under 40", while NAMIC (National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications) recognized him with a prestigious "Luminaries" Award. In 2008, he received a NAMIC Vision Award which celebrates and recognizes the cable industry's commitment to quality, and diversity.
Prior to joining mun2, Morales served as the Director or Programming and Music for LATV, of which he was a founding member.
