But, Iron Man 2 (Paramount) certainly got a jump on all the summer blockbusters by debuting in early May. This horror film franchise has been around for about 25 years. Therefore, the franchise has an enormous built-in audience. Warner Bros. took advantage of mid-night screenings in order to get a jump on the competition. The film made almost half of its revenue on Friday, which suggests that the film will not have a long theatrical run.
