LATINAFest 2019 Promises Expansion of the Mind, Body, and Soul at 2nd Annual Celebration

Fest celebrating all things Latina to include music, food, wellness, LATINATalks and TrendTalkShow taping at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes, Sunday, August 25th, Noon to 6 p.m.

Los Angeles, CA – After the off-the-charts success of last year’s LATINAFest, organizers announced today that plans are on the fast track to elevate the August 25, 2019, full-day event to another victorious day of celebration for Latinas. For the second year, LATINAFest once again partners with LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes to co-host the festival, which will take place at LA Plaza’s outdoor campus at 501 North Main Street, Los Angeles, 90012 from noon to 6:00 pm.

LATINAFest, produced by Bel Hernandez, President/CEO of Latin Heat Media, and Naibe Reynoso, Emmy Award journalist and children’s book author, celebrates women by offering uplifting and empowering information and resources to infuse and nourish the mind, body, and soul. According to CNN, “The future of the American economy is Hispanic and female,” and LATINAFest aims to celebrate that in a big way.

“LATINAFest is a celebratory day that will inspire women on how to best flex their consumer muscles and realize how their involvement in social issues can affect their daily lives,” states Hernandez. “It also allows us cultivate our souls, on a day where we expand our minds, nurture our hearts and develop self-care,” she adds, loosely quoting Zimbabwe-born philosopher Matshona Dhliwaqyo to best describe LATINAFest 2019.

“LA Plaza is pleased to serve as host venue again for the second edition of LATINFest,” said John Echeveste, CEO, LA Plaza.  “This event is both a celebration and a confirmation of the many strides and accomplishments of Latinas in Los Angeles.”

According to the Nielsen’s “Latinas 2.0” insight report, published in 2017, Latinas are more likely to own smartphones, engage with brands more on social media and broadcast their purchases to friends.  They are more likely than the average non-Latina, Anglo woman, to purchase athletic clothing and sporting equipment, skincare and fragrances, and groceries, rather than going out. However, they don’t always feel that brands are speaking to them.

“We are a thriving community and our earning power is growing,” says Reynoso, “Latina-owned small businesses are the fastest growing business segment in the United States. Since 2007 the number of Latina-owned small businesses has grown almost 87%, LATINAFest is an opportunity for some of those businesses to shine. We are all about speaking to directly to Latinas.”

The 2nd Annual LATINAFest 2019 looks to tap into everything that helps Latinas improve and advance the quality of their lives and place in our American society.
