Hollywood, CA — There’s a new collective in Los Angeles whose urban charm of performing performance artists, painters, bohemian literary writers, and poets are being brought together by The Heartbreak Artists. Their main objective is to present the most colorful analog of performance artistry who is currently pulsing in the Hollywood scene.
Today, however, The Heartbreak Artists communal is equal portions of love and the bittersweet journey that most artists working their craft endure– the falling apart they go through to survive every hurdle and obstacle encountered and the love of self-accomplishment they fulfill once they arrive.
The Heartbreaks Artists collective is something akin to some of the 20th century American culture underground café’s—those recognized as storied nightclubs, European-style cabaret scenes during the era of Prohibition days and the age of rock ‘n’ roll when there was a perceptible but elusive set of nightlife entertainment venues that kept the prohibited political views percolating during the Depression, World War II, and the Cold War.
The Heart Break Artists is the brainchild of actor/producers Karina Noelle Castillo and Stevie Dominguez, who were classmates at LACHSA (L.A. County High School for the Arts) and inspired by the Mexican Dia de Los Muertos [Day of The Dead] tradition. In short, this is a collective creating original content by L.A. based artists looking to evoke the bittersweetness of life. “Pain is temporary. You are infinite.”
The collective’s first show, titled “Heart Beats – A Celebration”, is on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 8 P.M. to 12 A.M. at the Thymele Arts, located at 5481 Santa Monica Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90029.
