Betty La Fea, The Story Continues will exclusively debut on Prime Video on July 19th in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
In the upcoming season, a death in Ecomoda compels Betty to make amends with her former coworkers and with her separated but still married husband, Armando. Additionally, she meets up with her daughter Mila again; Mila has been studying fashion in New York and comes back wanting to work in Hugo’s studio. Betty will have to mend fences with Armando, who would stop at nothing to gain her back, and decide whether to make critical decisions that will affect her profession in addition to trying to mend her connection with her daughter.
The plot and show are a celebration of women’s emancipation. A quarter of a century ago, when Betty was initially shown to the public, there was debate over what constitutes beauty. “Betty” came to symbolize the underdog who dared to dream and challenge the standards of beauty throughout its growth and numerous iterations.
The series reunites the lead actors Ana María Orozco and Jorge Enrique Abello from the original series that ran from 1991 – 2001. They reprise their roles of Betty and Armando Mendoza Sánez respectively.
