By Elia Esparza

What’s it like for Spain’s Diego “Bull” Avello to have his band’s songs on the FX’s premiere of Mayans MC, a network hit show? Well, for the six-foot-six frontman, it has unleashed energy for ú to create the most authentic rock and roll music, with a subtle Spanish vibe and their bilingual mix is a captivating musical crossover!

The band’s philosophy is “stubborn, bull-headed rock” and it reflects everything Avello’s reflection of his musical goals has never lost sight of. The starting point was in a small town in northern Spain, Cangas del Narcea, in the beautiful state of Asturias, Spain. As a child, he listened and has been influenced by Little RichardElvis, and Eddie Cochran, who embraced their own musical approach in a “no-holds-barred” manner. Avello founded his first rock n’ roll and, where the kids raised the monies to purchase their instruments by selling breakfast bread and sold it to neighbors. You know, the old saying, “necessity is the mother of invention,” and probably how the boys convinced the nuns from their school to lend them a space for their rehearsals. After a few months of wild rehearsals, the band was asked to play for a mass—the mass became a rock homily! And, the unexpected presence of a journalist led to a story on the rock n roll mass performance.

It is no coincidence that this student band evolved into the sensational Bull y los Búfalos! From Asturias, Avello, with a rock guitar in hand, took a road that led him to Madrid, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Austin, Texas, living for the music, chasing the rock n roll dream.

Bull aka Avello eventually moved to Madrid, where after meeting several musicians from the Madrid rock scene, founded “ , a name inspired by a National Geographic article dedicated to the buffalo.

“The story described how they faced the storms to cross them as soon as possible instead of waiting for them to finish,” recalled Bull. “It was the attitude I wanted to express in my music.”

It didn’t take long before Bull crossed an ocean to get to Mexico. During his time at the Mexican capital, he lived a life of pure rock n’ roll. Bull worked with brilliant Mexican musicians, touring nonstop throughout the country at events sponsored by Harley Davidson and participating in biker rallies such as “La Semana de Moto de Mazatlan” to an astounding concert before 18,000 motorcyclists.

His amazing success in Mexico led Bull to the U.S. heading to Austin, the “Live Music Capital of the World,” where he quickly attracted to the sounds of Texas– all of which inspired him to create his first English album, “Animal.”

In Los Angeles, “Bull y Los Bufalos opened for Dizzy Reed, keyboardist of Guns N’ Roses at the legendary Whiskey a Go-go,” also performing at various L.A. and SoCal venues.

This year, the band launched two new singles and a video clip that caught the attention of the prestigious Rock magazine, MXD MAG, especially after “Best Spanish Hard Rock” in Texas award. And, all this caught the attention of the producers of FX’s hit drama, Mayans MC, the Sons of Anarchy spin-off.

Diego “Bull” Avello, started his journey in a small town in Spain and after traveling 5000 miles, he has been able to explore the wildest and most genuine face of , demonstrating and fine-tuning the soul of his music. Bull believes…

Rock is for the brave!”
