Danny Trejo Joins Legion XIII’s “The Protector” Cast

Written and directed by Justin Lee (Badland, Swell), the cast for The Protector has been set and it’s impressive. Billy Zane (Titanic, Tombstone), Danny Trejo (Heat, Machete), Randy Couture (The Expendables franchise), and James Russo (Donnie Brasco, Django Unchained) have all come onboard Legion XIII’s indie action film The Protector.

The Protector focuses on Mickey Rome (Ed Morrone), an aging protection specialist who is ready to holster his guns and head for retirement. When the agency he works for demands one last job be done, Mickey obliges and is sent to Central America to track a husband and wife who have stolen eight million dollars from a ruthless crime family.

“This movie is a fun throwback to films from the 80s like Lethal Weapon, Midnight Run and 48 Hours. It has action. It has comedy. It has dark moments. It was such a joy to get to work in a space I love so much with phenomenal talent! I can’t wait for everyone to see Ed Morrone as Mickey!” Lee says.

The Protector also sees the familiar faces of Dr.Drew Pinsky (Loveline, Wildhogs), Johnny Messner (Tears Of The Sun, Running Scared) and Eddie Finlay (2 Fast 2 Furious, Bad Boys 2). The film is being produced by Daemon Hillin, Justin Lee, and Melanie Young, with Vasily Bernhardt of TB Films, executive producing.
