Gloria Calderon Kellett Celebrating Life ‘With Love’

Season 2 Pumps Up the Diaz Family Holiday Dramedy!

One of Hollywood’s most beloved TV series show creators and showrunner is none other than the award-winning and nominated Gloria Calderón Kellett (One Day at a Time) whose latest Amazon Original series With Love returns for a season 2 beginning on June 2nd on Prime Video.

If you’ve missed season one, now is a good time to catch up on the romantic story centered on siblings Lily (Emeraude Toubia) and Jorge Diaz (Mark Indelicato) who are navigating the highs and lows of love during the holidays. The stellar Diaz family cast also includes Rome Flynn as Santiago Zayas, Desmond Chiam as Nick Zhao, Vincent Rodriguez III as Henry Cruz, Isis King as Sol Perez, Todd Grinnell as Dr. Miles Murphy, Constance Maria as Beatriz Diaz, Benito Martinez as Jorge Diaz Sr. and Renee Victor as the hot looking abuela and Pepe Serna as the abuelo.

Season 1 ended by seeing Lily newly single having fun with her brother’s best friend Nick (Chiam) and falling in love with Santiago “Santi” (Flynn). Following Lily’s whirlwind romance with Santiago, Lily decides to focus all her energy on a personal; journey of self love by growing her makeup styling business and looking into buying her first home. But when both Santiago and Nick profess their feelings for her, Lily wrestles with what is best for her future. And, her brother Jorge begins to question whether he and Henry are truly compatible. When he meets Henry’s proud Texan parents, he can’t decide whether the relationship is a fairy tale or a nightmare. 

This new season 2 is packed with more family, celebrations and a ton of complicated amor! Six episodes with more romance, drama and gigantic surprises that is sure to please, because who doesn’t have an all-energy-focused family without drama? 

And, since the Diaz family celebrates most holidays like, Nochebuena (Christmas Eve), followed by New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, 4th of July and Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), there is never a dull moment lacking in family drama. 

The show’s creator, writer, and actress,  Gloria Calderón Kellett is best known as the executive producer, co-creator, co-showrunner, and director on the sitcom One Day at a Time, for which she garnered an Imagen “Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series”nomination in 2020. 

Just recently Calderon Kellett was featured as part of The Hollywood Reporter’s Raising Our Voices: Hollywood’s 50 Forces for Change article, for her work in the diversity and inclusion realm within the entertainment industry. She is credited as having “delivered projects fronted by women and members of the Latino/a/x/e community,” (With Love and forthcoming The Horror of Dolores Roach).  

Eva Longoria, among the five Latino included in this impressive list (the others are Chris Abrejo, Jairo Alvarado, and Edward James Olmos), when asked in the article what she is most excited about Longoria said, “Gloria Calderón Kellett. She is a beast. She’s creating the world she wants to see. She’s not only leaning in, but she’s reaching back to bring others along with her.”

Calderon Kellett, Showrunner/Writer/ Producer/Actor is doing it all and her community of colleagues, fans and viewers are grateful to watch her shows on television and feel connected and represented.

With Love, is the first series coming out of a deal between her company, Glonation and Amazon Studios. Along with Blumhouse Television and Spotify, Glonation is also producing The Horror of Dolores Roach based on the Gimlet podcast. 

In With Love Season 2, the siblings Lily and Jorge continue to navigate big life changes that only amplify when their big, loving, and overbearing family inserts themselves.  “We start with a direct pickup, figuring out who is getting married, and then, this season is really following that wedding,” Calderon Kellett teased on Entertainment Weekly.
