The Spanish born actress, Paz Vega, born on January 2, 1976 in Seville, Spain, has built an impressive acting career since earning her first credit on the Spanish TV series, Menudo es mi Padre. But it was her Best Actress Goya Award-winning role in Sex And Lucia in 2001 that helped launch her career.
Since then Vega has been a staple in dozens of Spanish TV series and films. It was only a matter of time that she’d catch the attention of Hollywood and was cast in her most notable commercial film Spanglish, starring opposite Adam Sandler (Kevin Can Wait).
Vega is one of the most known actors to hail from Spain. In 2002 Paz worked with Spain’s most celebrated director, Pedro Almodóvar in Talk to Her; and in 2013, she repeated her collaboration with Almodovar in I’m So Excited. In the U.S. Vega lent her voice to Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted to voice the Andalusian horses. Multi-lingual Vega has performed in English, Spanish, French and Italian, in the United States, several European countries as well as Latin America.
Vega has four projects in post-production and five others in the pipeline. Scheduled for a release in 2021 are two of the films, Lee Tamahori‘s Emperor where she plays Mary ‘Of Hungary’ and director Lindsay Gossling’s 13 Minutes, a drama about surviving a tornado in the Heartland.
Married to talent agent Orson Salazar since 2013, Vega recently celebrated her wedding anniversary on this day, January 2nd. Congratulations on your 17th year anniversary!
