Justina Machado is gracing our screens once again, this time as she lights up the dance floor on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars (DWTS).
Machado (One Day at a Time, Six Feet Under) joined season 29 of DWTS and is already crushing the competition. Machado is paired up with pro partner Sasha Farber and together they danced a Cha Cha to Aretha Franklin’s Respect that left the judges stunned.
“The confidence, the musicality, the rhythm,” judge Bruno Tonioli said. “Tu eres una chica maravillosa.”
Machacho brought so much excitement to her performance. Her smile and energy exuded off the screen.
“You are oozing charisma, there’s no doubt about that,” judge Derek Hugh said. “You filled this room with so much energy and power.”
Machado and Farber aka TeamLOCOmotion tied for the top spot alongside Disney Channel star Skai Jackson and her pro partner Alan Bersten. Machado’s team received 7s from all three judges for a total score of 21 out of 30.
Machado is best known for her portrayal of Vanessa Diaz in HBO’s Six Feet Under. Most recently, Machado was awarded the Imagen Foundation Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Penelope Alvarez on One Day at a Time.
After her fiery performance, Machado may have to make room on her trophy shelf for the Mirror Ball trophy.
