LatinHeat Presents “Blood In Blood Out’s” Enrique Castillo, “El Mero Mero” LIVE

Latin Heat Media will be presenting a Meet and Greet LIVE with actor/writer/director Enrique Castillo, whose role of Montana “El Mero Mero”, the leader of La Onda in the 1993 cult film Blood In Blood Out has garnered him fans from around the world. The LIVE will be presented on Latin Heat’s Facebook, Youtube and Latinheat.com on October 16, 2020 at 5:30 (PST). Registration is now open participate in the LIVE which will feature a Q & A; and a chance to enter to win a signed picture, poster, DVD and T-shirt, by Castillo.

It has been 27 years since Blood In Blood Out (also known as Bound by Honor) was released. Although for a variety of reasons, including that Hollywood Pictures delayed the original release in L.A. because of the Rodney King riots, the film did not get a lot of attention when it released, however thoughout the ensuing years, the fans have made it a cult film where generations after generations have become super fans.

Castillo, who played the leader of “La Onda” commanded loyalty of the Mexican prisoners in San Quentin, until his own protege, Miklo turned on him. Vincent Canby singled out Castillo’s performance when he wrote his review in the The New York Times, exalting some of the characters in the film in particular, Castillo.

The movie was written by American Book Award winner, Jimmy Santiago Baca and directed by Taylor Hackford (An Officer and a Gentleman). The cast has become revered by fans across the globe, with Benjamin Bratt (Paco); Jesse Borrego (Cruzito); Damian Chapa (Miklo); Danny Trejo (Geronimo), Victor Rivers (Magic Mike), Delroy Lindo (Bonafide), Raymond Cruz (Chuy), Billy Bob Thornton (Lighting) and Geoffrey Rivas (Carlos), and so many others who made up the cast — Now all now fan favorites.

“I am often asked if I travel to do events in different cities, for meet and greet and sign autographs. I’m actually pretty private and don’t get out much especially since Covid. But, I have been asked to do a virtual LIVE meet and greet on Latin Heat’s Facebook and Youtube platforms, and I have agreed,” said Castillo. “It will be an opportunity to connect with BIBO fans. I will be answering questions live and I look forward to meeting some of the fans virtually.”

Three (3) Lucky winners will each receive a signed poster, picture, DVD and a T-Shirt by Castillo.
