New Music Friday: Nanpa Básico

By Marlene Cordova

David Roser, better known as Nanpa Básico, has been gaining traction and rising in popularity in his homeland of Colombia and cities across Mexico, accumulating a total of 1,484 thousand followers across all social media. He’s become a rising member of the new generational wave of artists.

Básico has a captivating touch to his music, immersing his lyrical capabilities with rap, and tones of reggae.

In an interview with  El Rincon Del Underground, “The Underground Corner.”  Nanpa shares that when he first started to write, he would jot down most of his thoughts and feelings. When he listened to rap, he’d realize how his ideas and perspective on life would correlate to the lyrics in the songs he played. Which, in essence, led him to become the artist he is today.

A rising underground star, Básico’s new single Respira featuring the duo, Alkilados, is now streaming on all music platforms. Along with some more of his top streaming songs, Canela, Flaca, and Sin Ti Estoy Bien.

Stay tuned for more on Nanpa Basico and other artists to watch!
