PrendeTV To Target Spanish Speaking U.S. Latinos

Univision has announced the launch of the new Spanish language streamer PrendeTV during the first quarter of 2021. The goal is to capture the Spanish-speaking U.S. Latino audience that at the moment has few options.

Set to debut in the first quarter of 2021, PrendeTV will offer free, premium 100% Spanish-language programming, exclusively curated for U.S. Latino audiences.

With over 30 channels of video-on-demand, the streamer plans to feature telenovelas, TV comedies, classic sports, documentaries, lifestyle shows, and children’s programming.  For exclusive content, Univision will once again tap into Mexico’s Televisa and their exclusive libraries of fan-favorite programming that is not made not available on any other streaming platform.

“With the launch of PrendeTV we are focused on bringing new ways for our advertisers to reach the U.S. Hispanic audience and, importantly, PrendeTV will be a critical part of our strategy to grow the scope of our business partnerships with our key distributors,” said Univision CEO Wade Davis, formerly CEO of Viacom.

PrendeTV marks an expansion of Univision’s media portfolio that features national broadcast and cable networks, local TV and radio stations, and a suite of leading digital offerings while looking to expand viewing options to their Spanish speaking viewers.  There was no information given on distribution partners, however, PrendeTV will be available upon launch, on the web, and via free mobile connected-TV apps.
