Spanish Author Lorenzo Silva & Mediapro Studio Sign Sign Development Deal

TV Series Based on ‘Si Esto Es Una Mujer” (If This Is a Woman) Bestselling Book

According to TheHollywood Reporter, Spain’s The Mediapro Studio has signed a new development deal with best-selling genre author Lorenzo Silva to oversee scripted fiction based on his novels.

The new deal consists of a series based on Silva’s book, “Is Esto Es Una Mujer”, which is a Noemi Trujillo collaboration, along with another adapting two of the author’s popular novels featuring the Civil Guard duo Ruben Bevilacqua and Virginia Chamorro.

The award-winning Silva will supervise the script team for the new projects from Mediapro’s production outfit Globomedia. Trujillo will collaborate on Woman, about a cold case in Madrid that brings female inspector Manuela Mauri back from a seven-month leave.

Silva’s other film and TV credits include The Mist and the Maiden and 2002’s The Alchemist. In 2004, he earned a Goya nomination for the film adaptation of his novel The Weakness of the Bolshevik.

The Hollywood Reporter further stated that The Mediapro Studio of Spain’s Mediapro Group, currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, recently started principal photography on Woody Allen’s newest film in Spain and announced a development deal with Emmy-winning writer-director Justin Webster.

No production dates are yet announced. Silva will take an executive producer credit on the series.
