No Es Que Me Quiera Ir is an authentic ranchera ballad, written by Edén Muñoz, which tells the story of a broken-hearted man who understands he must forget that past relationship. This great song has captivated audiences across the world, reaching the #1 spot on the general and popular radio chart in Mexico for 8 consecutive weeks and also scoring the #1 spot in Chile (ranchero genre on Monitor Latino). This song joins the long list of hits from the singer, given Alejandro is the first Latin artist to take albums to the top of the sales charts for four consecutive decades (1990, 2000, 2010, 2020).

Fernández arrives in the US with his tour Amor y Patria this September, where he will continue celebrating the national Mexican holidays in the US. The 22-date tour will take him to visit 21 cities, starting with Sacramento on September 8, and continuing on to cities including Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, Houston, and, for the first time, Toronto and Oklahoma City. To continue the Fernández family tradition, Alex will join him for most of the shows. Part of the earnings from the tour will go to support the foundation, Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino. This organization has shined a spotlight on the last 500 years of Latin history in the United States through the development of the National Museum of the American Latino located at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

This year has been an impressive one for Fernández’s career. In February and March, Alejandro conducted a Latin American tour with 13 sold-out shows, including his return to one of the most prestigious stages in music at the LXII Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar in Chile. He returned to Mexico to make history by offering one of the most important concerts in his career at the monumental – Plaza de Toros México, with a completely sold-out concert in front of fifty thousand people. This past July, he landed a successful return to Spain, after 5 years, with his tour, Amor y Patria. Seven shows, filled to the brim, took fans through the best of the singer’s repertoire and Mexican music classics with which he paid tribute to his father, Vicente Fernández.

Last week, Fernandez, along with Regional Mexican superstars Calibre 50, released a duet version of one of the album’s most acclaimed songs, Decepciones, which has already surpassed 7 million views on YouTube and Facebook.

In April as the pandemic shut down the live events industry, Alejandro raised money for musicians affected by COVID-19 by releasing a touching rendition of Joan Sebastian’s classic, Eso y Más and donating all net profits from the song to the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund in the United States and MúsicaMéxico Covid-19 in Mexico. The song debuted #1 on iTunes in 7 countries.
