Suarez joins NBC 6 from the ABC affiliate station WPLG in Miami, Florida where he served as an anchor/reporter. Prior to this, he worked as a reporter at CBS affiliate station WINK in Ft. Myers, Florida. 

Suarez is well known for his news coverage while at WPLG covering Pope Francis’ historic visit to the U.s., The United Nations General Assembly meeting between President Obama and Raul Castro in New York, and a week-long series on the economic challenges facing Puerto Rico in 2015. He also covered the severe weather events during Hurricane Irma.

Suarez, a two time Emmy® award-winner for his coverage of the Stoneman Douglas mass shooting and the FIU bridge collapse. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Florida International University.
