New to Chicago P.D. is Lisseth Chavez!

Lisseth Chavez will appear in a recurring role on the upcoming 7th season of NBC’s Chicago P.D. Chavez will take on the role of Vanessa Rojas, a streetwise undercover cop. The NBC crime drama revolves around the men and women of the Chicago Police Departments elite intelligence unit combatting the city’s most notorious crimes.

Chavez‘s contract has the possibility of extending into a regular character on the series now that Jon Seda’s Detective Antonio Dawson has left the show. The young actress recently recurred on ABC’s medical drama Station 19 as fire academy graduate “Kat” Noonan.

Lisseth is best known for her role as Ximena Sinfuego on the long-running Freeform series The Fosters. Chicago P. D. is produced by Wolf Entertainment in association with Universal Television filmed on location in Chicago. Chavez is represented by Osbrink talent agency, Link Entertainment and Stone Genow.

Alita: Battle Angels’ Rosa Salazar Stars in New Amazon Prime Series Undone

Rosa Salazar is starring in a new one-hour Sci-Fi series for Amazon studios called Undone. It uses cutting edge Rotoscope animation technology to tell the story of Alma, a dissatisfied San Antonio daycare worker who survives a car crash, only to realize she now has an unusual relationship with time and seeks to solve the mystery of her father’s death.

The advanced animation technology Rotoscope takes place when animators sketch colors and texture over each frame of recorded digital video. Season 1 of Undone consists of eight episodes that will debut on Amazon Prime later this year, but no premiere date has been set.

With $404 million in the worldwide box-office and generally favorable review from film critics, Robert Rodriquez and James Cameron’s manga film adaptation Alita: Battle Angel with Salazar<g class="gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="6" data-gr-id="6"> </g>in the title role has just been released on DVD and is sure to expand its fan base.

At the recent Comic-Con in San Diego star, Rosa Salazar urged everyone to buy DVD’s or Blu Rays to prove to Disney/Fox that there are interest and a demand for a sequel to Alita: Battle Angel. Michelle Rodriguez’sRos mentor Gelda and other characters were briefly included in the movie in hopes of developing the characters in a sequel. Rodriguez concluded the movie with the intention of making a sequel and he and Cameron, inspired by the original source material, had worked out continuing storylines.

The post Lisseth Chavez, Rosa Salazar, Latinas Shine on TV Series first appeared on .

A protégé of Dick Wolf Award-winning TV Franchises continues on as Isobel Castile on CBS’ FBI

According to Deadline.com, versatile actress, Alana de la Garza is on the move! Currently, a series regular on CBS’s FBI: Most Wanted, she is reprising her role as Assistant Special Agent in Charge (A.S.A.C.) on the new FBI, again as a series regular.

It’s a transfer of sorts because instead of starring in the upcoming CBS spinoff, de la Garza. who portrays A.S.A.C. Isobel Castile will join the original FBI as a series regular in Season 2, filling the void left by Sela Ward‘s departure. FBI returns for Season 2 on Tuesday, September 24th at 9/8C.

De la Garza has been working with TV Producer Dick Wolf for years on the most popular TV franchises he has created, i.e. NBC’s Law & Order, where she played Connie Rubirosa on all three of the spinoffs: Law & Order, Law & Order: LA, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Further, Deadline.com stated that on FBI, produced by Wolf Entertainment, Universal Television, and CBS Television Studios, de la Garza joins series regulars Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, fellow Law & Order alum Jeremy Sisto, <g class="gr_ gr_56 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="56" data-gr-id="56">and</g> Ebonée Noel.

On FBI: Most Wanted, De la Garza’s Isobel Castile is a Fugitive Squad Supervisor. She’s a polished and focused West Point graduate with a brief stint in Silicon Valley, she’s a rising star who shuns politics and is a guided missile in the field. The spinoff, which was introduced as a backdoor pilot episode of FBI this past spring, stars Julian McMahon, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Kellan Lutz, Roxy Sternberg, and Nathaniel Arcand.

De la Garza’s acting credits also include starring on CBS’ Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and ABC’s Forever, and got her big break as Rosa Santos on the daytime drama, All My Children in 2001. She has garnered several industry awards, including sev<g class="gr_ gr_4 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="4" data-gr-id="4">e</g>ral Imagen and ALMA awards, and Cunningham Escott Slevin & Doherty (CESD).

The post Alana de la Garza’s Role Exits CBS, lands on Spinoff “FBI” first appeared on .
