Fans and newcomers to the international Emmy Award-winning series can expect the highest level of drama, action and adventure as the Legendary Teresa Mendoza embarks on her most dangerous adventure yet, even if it means burning her fabled throne as La Reina to succeed.

Season 3 opens four years after enthralling events of the season 2 cliffhanger when Teresa-who is living an idyllic life on a beachside hideout with her daughter-sees military forces coming after her. Teresa Mendoza is now behind bars in the U.S for the murder of three DEA agents. Stripped out of her freedom, she´s separated again from her beloved daughter, Sofia.

Celebrated for showcasing the rich cultures and magnificent landscapes around the world each season, La Reina del Sur 3, ventured to five countries in South America, taking the narrative to the streets of 16 major cities in the region. Viewers will find themselves transported to such legendary sites as the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia, Machu Picchu in Peru, the Teatro Colón in Argentina and Santa Marta in Colombia, among many other spectacular locations.

Joining this season are Humberto Zurita (La Querida del Centauro, La Reina del Sur), Isabella Sierra(La Reina del Sur 2, 100 Días para enamorarnos), Kika Edgar(La Reina del Sur 2, Mujeres Asesinas), Alejandro Calva(La Reina del Sur 2, Señora Acero), Tiago Correa(La Reina del Sur 2, La Casa de las Flores), Eduardo Yañez(La Reina del Sur 2, Falsa Identidad), Lincoln Palomeque, Emmanuel Orenday, Sara Vidorreta, Agata Clares and Dmitry Anisimov.

The third season of La Reina del Sur is written by Lina Uribe and Darío Venegas, directed by Carlos Bolado, Carlos Villegas and Claudia Pedraza. Marcos Santana is Executive Producer and Showrunner of the series, with Telemundo´s Ximena Cantuarias and AG Studios´s Rodrigo Guerrero as Executive producers.

The adult animated workplace comedy is about three washed-up wrestlers from the regional Wrestling Wrestling Wrestling League who bring in a controversial rookie in a desperate attempt to regain relevance and make it back to the main event.

This season’s House of Chico follows breakout star, Rocky Romero (aka Chico el Luchador), back to his Lucha origins in Mexico. This will be the first Latino adult-animated series and will feature a host of diverse writing, producing and voice talent including: Michael Tenango (writing) and Alberto Portillo (producing) and top Latino influencers and talent throughout the season including Jairo Orozco (Mexican Gueys), Eric Ochoa (Supereeego), Jesus Sepulveda (Mr. Tough Life), Laura DiLorenzo (Selena: The Series) and Fabian Alomar (Mayans MC).

This is the first Latino adult animated series ever in the Web3 Latino-Adult Animated Series category.

“There’s a well documented lack of diverse voices, especially Latino, in Hollywood,” said Rocky Romero. “I’m thrilled to be part of this team, showcasing emerging Latino talent and embracing new technology that will enable even more voices to be heard.”

Toonstar, a Web3 animation studio will launch the new season on Thursday, October 27th at Avalanche Creates, a Bay Area event hosted by Ava Labs, a software company supporting the Avalanche ecosystem. Hollywood veteran writers Dave Ihlenfeld (The Daves) and David Wright (Family Guy, Star Trek: Lower Decks), will continue on as executive producers of the season.

The Gimmicks embraced Web3 early on, giving NFT holders the ability to impact storylines and character arcs. The model proved to be incredibly successful with audience engagement and retention levels remaining high throughout the season, bucking the industry trend.
