With 20 sold-out concerts, Argentina and Chile were rocked by the breathtaking Luis Miguel Tour 2023, where the Mexican superstar set new records for consecutive performances at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires and Santiago. The show featured flawless staging and left over 220 thousand fans ecstatically cheering for their idol with every song.

Luis Miguel‘s latest feat adds another chapter to his history-making journey, with total revenue reaching $25 million, firmly placing him among the highest-grossing Latino artists of all time. And these numbers don’t even include those from the upcoming Luis Miguel Tour 2023/24. The artist has now amassed a staggering 567 concerts, generated $319 million in revenue, and drawn 4.3 million fans to his shows, according to data recorded by Billboard Boxscore since the 1990s.

Photo: Fenix Entertainment Company

The initial impressions from his first concerts are nothing short of astonishing, with the media praising the audience’s ovation in response to the Sun of Mexico’s impeccable performance. Luis Miguel is undeniably at the peak of his career, both physically and mentally, a sentiment echoed by media, fans, and critics alike.

During the first concerts of the more than 140 scheduled until 2024, Luis Miguel, accompanied by his 42 musicians, presented a setlist featuring approximately 20 songs that seamlessly blended pop, bolero, and mariachi, including hits like Será que no me amas, Suave, Culpable o no, Dormir contigo, Usted, Inolvidable, and México en la piel. This electrifying performance stirred uninterrupted euphoria among his fans in the southern part of the continent.

Without a doubt, Luis Miguel continues to reign as the icon of Hispanic music worldwide, and he is gearing up to extend his tour across the United States, Mexico, and Canada which started at his usual Las Vegas show on September 15 at the launch of Hispanic Heritage Month. From its inception, the intimate showroom has presented Latinx talent from the legendary Chita Rivera to our latest Tony Award-winners, Lin Manuel Miranda, Paulo Szot, and Lindsay Mendez (soon to be co-starring with Daniel Radcliff in Sondheim’s opus to friendship, Merrily We Roll Along). Here’s the impressive calendar of musical acts 54 Below has in store.

Pushing aside the ring light, this very funny and personal peek into an actor’s life is an electric night of musical theatre. Accompanied by a band led by musical director Brian J.
Emmy Award winner and Broadway veteran Jai Rodriguez returns home to the NYC stage after 17 years, with his new cabaret show A Thousand Sweet Kisses, chronicling his hilarious journey through love, sex, and relationships. We fell in love with Jai when he was introduced to us as the “Culture Guy” in the groundbreaking original reality show Queer Eye. Theater audiences first met Jai at the age of 18 when he played Angel in Rent, making him the youngest person ever cast in a leading role in that show. While in NYC, puertoriqueño Jai appeared at Lincoln Center in Spinning Into Butter, as Carmen Ghia in The Producers, and as Zanna in the cult classic Zanna, Don’t! While performing eight shows a week, Jai became a fixture in nightlife with his popular postmodern pop cabaret night at XL called Twisted Cabaret. Since then Jai has become a regular fixture in TV and film guest starring on shows like Grey’s Anatomy, The Rookie, The Magicians, How I Met Your Mother, Fantasy Island, and as the scene-stealing Geoffrey in Malibu Country opposite Reba McEntire and Lily Tomlin. Most recently Jai was in the Judd Apatow film BROS and in Uncoupled.

A Thousand Sweet Kisses is a hilarious and touching musical cabaret featuring Broadway and pop classics as well as never-before-told behind-the-scenes stories.

Alejandro Fernández proves once again he is one of the greatest voices in Mexican music around the world. His most recent single, No Es Que Me Quiera Ir, reaches the #1 spot on the radio in the United States both in Billboard’s Regional Mexican and Latin Airplay chart.

No Es Que Me Quiera Ir is an authentic ranchera ballad, written by Edén Muñoz, which tells the story of a broken-hearted man who understands he must forget that past relationship. This great song has captivated audiences across the world, reaching the #1 spot on the general and popular radio chart in Mexico for 8 consecutive weeks and also scoring the #1 spot in Chile (ranchero genre on Monitor Latino). This song joins the long list of hits from the singer, given Alejandro is the first Latin artist to take albums to the top of the sales charts for four consecutive decades (1990, 2000, 2010, 2020).

Fernández arrives in the US with his tour Amor y Patria this September, where he will continue celebrating the national Mexican holidays in the US. The 22-date tour will take him to visit 21 cities, starting with Sacramento on September 8, and continuing on to cities including Los Angeles, Miami, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, Houston, and, for the first time, Toronto and Oklahoma City. To continue the Fernández family tradition, Alex will join him for most of the shows. Part of the earnings from the tour will go to support the foundation, Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino. This organization has shined a spotlight on the last 500 years of Latin history in the United States through the development of the National Museum of the American Latino located at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

This year has been an impressive one for Fernández’s career. In February and March, Alejandro conducted a Latin American tour with 13 sold-out shows, including his return to one of the most prestigious stages in music at the LXII Festival Internacional de la Canción de Viña del Mar in Chile. He returned to Mexico to make history by offering one of the most important concerts in his career at the monumental – Plaza de Toros México, with a completely sold-out concert in front of fifty thousand people. This past July, he landed a successful return to Spain, after 5 years, with his tour, Amor y Patria. Seven shows, filled to the brim, took fans through the best of the singer’s repertoire and Mexican music classics with which he paid tribute to his father, Vicente Fernández.

The post Alejandro Fernandez’s ‘No Es Que Me Quiera Ir’ Tops US Radio Charts first appeared on .

Puerto Rican Artist and Producer Jesús Manuel Nieves Cortez (Jhay Cortez or Jhayco) brings fuego to the electronic scene yet again. This time around, he collaborates with Dubstep and EDM pioneer Skrillex (Sonny John Moore).

Christian Dior, his first single of the year was released back in March. With the announcement of his Timelezz tour, Jhayco’s music and work demonstrate he is ready to own the charts once more. Previous to the engulfing En Mi Cuarto, Jhay Cortez collaborated with Puerto Rican Artists Marco Masís (Tainy) and Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (Bad Bunny) to release Dákiti.

Together the three Latin superstars earned: Billboard Music Award for Top Latin song 2021, Premio Juventud for Viral Track of the Year 2021, and Premio Juventud for Song of the Year 2021. Moreover, Dákiti became the biggest Latin produced song in the world reaching the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, Apple Music’s General charts, and Spotify Top 200.

En Mi Cuarto and Dákiti showcase Jhay Cortez’s love for the upbeat traces of house music in his reggaetón beats. Similar to Bad Bunny’s Yonaguni, En Mi Cuarto is about Jhayco’s reminiscing of an old relationship that he is now trying to heal from. The visuals in En Mi Cuarto depict the healing measures he’s taken. Dancing alongside Skrillex in a burning room happens to be one of them.

As of August 1st, Jhayco has 911 Remix (No. 45), Dákiti (No. 52,) Fiel Remix (No. 72), Fiel (No. 100), and 512 (No. 114) on Spotify’s Top 200 Charts.

With the release of En Mi Cuarto, Jhayco announced on Twitter he can die peacefully now that he has accomplished a project with Skrillex.

Currently the artist is working towards his sophomore album titled Timelezz.

Multi-versatile master actor, restauranteur, entrepreneur, and now Danny Trejo ventures into music, launches his own record label with his soulful Chicano Album

There is no doubt that one of the hardest working Latinos in Hollywood, is Danny Trejo, who at 75, has mastered acting and proven himself to be a savvy entrepreneur with his successful coffee and donut joints and a fancy schmancy gourmet taco eaterie, he now has dipped his restless toes into the music industry.

According to Billboard.com, the beloved Mexican-American thespian has partnered with Silent Giant Entertainment president and producer, Edward “E-Dub” Rios, and artist and BashTown Music CEO, Baby Bash, to give life to his first album dubbed “Danny Trejo Presents Chicano Soul Shop Vol. 1.” Also featured in the record includes music from FrankieJ, Baby Bash and Chiquis Rivera, and emerging artists, Tara New, and Tish Toledo.

“I want to support new talents,” Trejo told Billboard. “In about three to four months, we’re hoping to host an open audition for new talent,” he notes, emphasizing that the sole reason he launched his own record label was to help emerging artists.

“In the record business, it’s not who’s playing the chords. It’s who’s pulling the strings.” Fredric Dannen, Hit Men, 1990 novel

Set to be released on Father’s Day, June 16th, “Danny Trejo Presents Chicano Soul Shop Vol. 1” is a holiday that Trejo cherishes. “I think one of God’s blessings is being a father and I think on this record I even say, ‘Pay your child support, <g class="gr_ gr_5 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear ContextualSpelling" id="5" data-gr-id="5">cabrones</g>!’” he joked in Billboard’s interview. “Every day is a blessed day for me just to be a father.”

The album will be available June 16 for streaming and download on Apple Music, Pandora, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Music, Tidal and Deezer.

“Every good thing that has happened to me has happened directly to help someone else,” Trejo said to Billboard of his record label’s mission. “I really think that’s what life is all about.”
