Ratones Paranoicos is an iconic South American band that still rocks the music scene nearly 40 years after its formation in the early 1980s. The new Netflix documentary Ratones Paranoicos: The Band that Rocked Argentina chronicles their story featuring a concert and backstage footage.

The doc will begin streaming on Jan. 6 with English-language subtitles. The film is directed by Alejandro Ruax and Ramiro Martinez.

Dubbed Argentina’s “most enduring band,” Ratones has proven a resilient quartet that came back in 2017 after a six-year hiatus. Formed in 1983 with a sound heavily influenced by the British band The Rolling Stones, the Argentinian rocker produced hits like Carolina, Sigue Girando, Rock del Pedazo, Ya Mori, and La Nave. The band was originally formed by lead singer and guitarist Juanse Gutiérrez, along with Pablo Memi, Paul Cano, and Rubén Quiroga, the band’s current formation.

Ratones Paranoicos opened for Rolling Stones and Guns ‘n’ Roses in Argentina. In fact, Ratones recorded with the Rolling Stone guitarist Mick Taylor for their album Hecho en Memphis.
