Selena Gomez will be back in theaters this summer — well, her voice will. The songstress will reprise her vocal role as Mavis, Dracula’s daughter in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania. The fourth and final installment of the animated comedy film series will release in theaters on July 23.
Gomez has voiced Mavis throughout the series and will be accompanied by returning cast members Andy Samberg (Palm Springs), Kathyrn Hahn (WandaVision), Keegan-Michal Key (Playing With Fire), David Spade (The Wrong Missy) and Steve Buscemi (The King of Staten Island). Brian Hull is joining the cast as Dracula, replacing Adam Sandler.
The series follows Dracula and his family in their hotel of monsters, until a human named Johnny (Samberg), stumbles into the hotel and eventually into the family. Desperate to fit in, Johnny uses a “monsterfication ray” to transform into a monster, however, he accidentally turns the monsters into humans.
According to the trailer, the monsters scramble to restore order as they try to find a cure in their mismatched bodies in the new Hotel Transylvania: Transformania.
The final installment is directed by Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon from a screenplay by Genndy Tartakovsky, Amos Vernon and Nunzio Randazzo. Tartakovsky directed the first three films of the series. Both Gomez and Tartakovsky serve as exec-producers as well.
Hotel Transylvania: Transformania is set for theatrical release this summer on July 23.
