If you missed the recent cast reunion of HBO’s acclaimed series The West Wing, you still have a chance to watch it. And you don’t need a cable subscription.
HBO Max’s A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote is available for free on the cable channel’s website through the rest of 2020.
Filmed over several days at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, the special premiered on Oct. 15. It features Martin Sheen, Rob Lowe, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, and Bradley Whitford reuniting with original series creator Aaron Sorkin and Thomas Schlamme.
Needless to say, the reunion special coincides with the 2020 presidential elections.
The West Wing, which ran from 1999 to2006, centers on a fictitious Democratic administration of President Josiah Bartlet, who is played by Sheen. The actor won a Golden Globe for his Commander-in-Chief role as well as four other nominations to that coveted award.
The reunion special also highlights When We All Vote, the non-profit co-chaired by former First Lady Michelle Obama that aims at increasing voter participation in elections. Obama herself makes an appearance in the t.v. special along with other special guests like President Bill Clinton and actor and producer Lin-Manuel Miranda.
