The rom-com About Hope, starring Latina model and up-and-coming actress Christine Juarbe and Justin Ray (Attack of The Killer Donuts), has launched a monthly faith-based films series to release first at movie theaters with subsequent video-on-demand streaming and DVD releases.

The romantic feature started a limited release this past month on Jan. 22 and is currently being shown in theaters in a dozen states including Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. The film is slated for VOD and DVD release later this month.

About Hope is about a man who finds the love of his life after searching for many years. She is a single mother who happens to also be a friend of his family. But temptation arrives when a beautiful and rich woman offers him a more extravagant life and he has to make a choice. The cast also features Victor Marx (All Things Possible Ministries), Aaron Groben (Heaven, Totally WOW), David Lago (The Young & The Restless), and Brie Duplechain (The Beverlys).

The film marks the feature directorial debut of David Dietrich, who also co-write the script with Cyndi Monroe. It is also the first feature for Juarbe, whose previous film credits are a few shorts. Early in her career Juarbe was a contestant in the reality TV show Model Latina which aired on SI-TV (now FUSE).

About Hope is the first of three projects, with two others in development, from Creator Films, a company founded by Dietrich with the purpose of making faith-centered movies and TV shows with Christian values. The company uses crowdfunding to finance its projects via the platform WeFunder, similar to what other independent filmmakers are doing with Kickstarter.

“It’s definitely gratifying to bring this story to folks in a time when we all need a little more hope,” says Dietrich. “The cast and crew were thrilled to bring this heart-warming story to life. It’s been amazing to see audiences respond to the story and embrace the characters.”

The faith-based film series kicked off by About Hope, is a partnership between Vision Films and Nova Vento, an independent sales and VOD aggregator and film distributor, the latter an American theatrical distribution company focused on U.S. theatrical releases of independent films.

Starting Feb. 9, the rom-com will be available in the U.S. and Canada on streaming platforms like Amazon, iTunes, GooglePlay, Vudu, Vimeo, and cable providers such as Comcast, Spectrum, Charter, Cox, Dish, DirecTV and more. DVD retailers will include Amazon and all other major online retailers.

About Hope’s international sales are handled by Glass House Distribution.
