Multi-versatile master actor, restauranteur, entrepreneur, and now Danny Trejo ventures into music, launches his own record label with his soulful Chicano Album

There is no doubt that one of the hardest working Latinos in Hollywood, is Danny Trejo, who at 75, has mastered acting and proven himself to be a savvy entrepreneur with his successful coffee and donut joints and a fancy schmancy gourmet taco eaterie, he now has dipped his restless toes into the music industry.

According to Billboard.com, the beloved Mexican-American thespian has partnered with Silent Giant Entertainment president and producer, Edward “E-Dub” Rios, and artist and BashTown Music CEO, Baby Bash, to give life to his first album dubbed “Danny Trejo Presents Chicano Soul Shop Vol. 1.” Also featured in the record includes music from FrankieJ, Baby Bash and Chiquis Rivera, and emerging artists, Tara New, and Tish Toledo.

“I want to support new talents,” Trejo told Billboard. “In about three to four months, we’re hoping to host an open audition for new talent,” he notes, emphasizing that the sole reason he launched his own record label was to help emerging artists.

“In the record business, it’s not who’s playing the chords. It’s who’s pulling the strings.” Fredric Dannen, Hit Men, 1990 novel

Set to be released on Father’s Day, June 16th, “Danny Trejo Presents Chicano Soul Shop Vol. 1” is a holiday that Trejo cherishes. “I think one of God’s blessings is being a father and I think on this record I even say, ‘Pay your child support, cabrones!’” he joked in Billboard’s interview. “Every day is a blessed day for me just to be a father.”

The album will be available June 16 for streaming and download on Apple Music, Pandora, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Music, Tidal and Deezer.

“Every good thing that has happened to me has happened directly to help someone else,” Trejo said to Billboard of his record label’s mission. “I really think that’s what life is all about.”

Danny Trejo is repped by Amsel, Eisenstadt, Frazier & Hinojosa Talent Agency.
