Orange County Film Fiesta Runs Oct. 18 thru Nov. 3

The popular OC Film Fiesta Festival bring an array of great films, free screenings, special events, celebrations and more to the city of Santa Ana in Orange County, California from Oct 18 thru November 3 at many different venues throughout the county including the AMC Orange 30 theatres, The Orange County Museum of Art, The Mexican Consulate in Santa Ana and The Source in Buena Park.  

For the past ten years, The OC Film Fiesta Festival has presented an award winning selection of diverse feature films, documentaries, short films and activities for families, students, artists, professionals and cinema lovers.

This year’s highlights include a free opening night screening of Noe Santillan-Lopez’s hit comedy about a mariachi troupe, Una Ultima, Y Nos Vamos (One more and We Leave) at the Ebell Club in Santa Ana.

Gaytino- Made in America, an adaptation of celebrated performer Dan Guerrero’s one man show in which he stars, will screen on Oct 26th along with Carlos Almaraz: Playing with Fire, produced by his widow Elsa Flores Almaraz and Culture Clash’s Richard J. MontoyaPaul Espinosa and Mark Day’s film Singing Our Way To Freedom, a musical tour of the Chicano Civil Rights movement through the powerful story of singer Ramon”Chunky” Sanchez.  

Alex Rivera’s and Christne Ibarra’s award-winning The Infiltrators, a hybrid documentary about a group of undocumented youth who deliberately get detained by the Border patrol in order to infiltrate a detention center, organize and get other detainees out screen on October 26th at AMC Orange 30.  There is also a showcase of Middle Eastern long form and short films as well. 

On October 30th at the Mexican Consulate in Santa Ana there is a free screening of the 2006 Jack Black Mexico filmed comedy Nacho Libre featuring a book talk /introduction by film historian/Luis Reyes, author of the new book Made in Mexico: Hollywood South of the Border, that will be available for purchase and for him to sign, A special program of short films made by High school students from Edward James Olmos School of film and Cinematic Arts in Santa Ana will be presented.
